DG 800 S
The DG-800 is a versatile remote control semi-scale sailplane appropriate for various flying conditions. It has a variable wing span. In its shorter version, i.e., with winglets, it is aerobatic. The winglets can be removed and replaced with tips, which decrease wing loading but also manoeuvrability of the sailplane. In this set up the plane is suitable for very weak thermal and slope conditions. Both winglets and tips are included in the standard version of the DG-800.
The fuselage of the DG-800 is made of fiberglass. The cockpit is furnished with a moulded seat. If the customer wishes, the cockpit can custom equipped with seat covers, upholstered side panels, control levers, a control panel.
The wing construction is a composite of styrofoam, fiberglass and balsa, all covered with a white iron-on ORACOVER foil. The wing spar is made of wood. The wing is equipped with split flaps. The parts of the wing are attached to the fuselage by a 14x2mm flat steel bar.
The model DG-800comes equipped with Schempp-Hirth airbrakes and retractable landing gear. If desired, an airtow release mechanism can be added as an option. The model has the original true scale sailplane livery applied. If the customer wishes, the colour of the standard decals can be changed or these can be completely custom made.
The DG-800 can be fitted with an Elicker’s 12.5 inch retractable pylon. The model can have the fuselage adjusted, pre-cut and fixed with a door, i.e., ready for the installation of the retractable unit or, it can have the pylon completely installed by us.
With basic equipment, the DG-800 model requires nine (8) servos, i.e., elevator, rudder, ailerons, flaps, airbrakes and landing gear. One (1) extra servo is required for the operation of the airtow release mechanism. If modified as an M version, the model requires an additional servo for the retractable pylon.
